Cowboys Not Messing Around!

Dallas, TX- The Dallas Cowboys are not messing around these days. It doesn't matter what number or name is on the back of the jersey. If you are not performing up to your expectations, your liable to lose your job. Jason Garrett the head coach of the Cowboys is laying down the law. Garrett, who is in his first Spring training as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys means business.
Andre Gurode was the latest player that didn't meet Jason Garretts expectations. Center Andre Gurode was released by the Cowboys today 8/29/11. No center of the Dallas Cowboys has been to more Pro Bowls than Andre Gurode.
Younger offensive line players have been impressive to the coaches. That lead to the decision to release Gurode, who has not played well in camp this Spring. Jason Garrett said, the transitioning of the team is not to have young players, but putting players on the field to give them a better chance to win. Before Gurode was released, (WR) Roy Williams and (RB) Marion Barber were released, both now are with Chicago.

Beware all Cowboys: You have a new "SHERIFF" in town his name is Jason Garrett.

"If you don't play to his expectations, you won't be around very long." No matter how much experience and success you've had in past. You better be ready to play hard in practice and perform well on game day.

However, Jason made it clear the day he took over for Wade Phillips as the interim coach mid-season last year. He was evaluating players then. He's continuing to evaluate players now. Jason takes pride in the "STAR," that is on the helmets the "Dallas Cowboys" wear.

News Around The League!

Oakland, CA- The Raiders drafted Terrelle Pryor in the supplemental draft. In his first NFL practice, he threw nine passes among his 16 plays, completing four of the with a far out target. He also fumbled a couple of snaps in seven of his running plays.
There have been questions if Pryor is a legitimate NFL QB with his style of play. Some analyst thinks he ought to move to WR or RB. Terrelle is an outstanding athlete, who is a gifted runner. The questions are how accurate will he be throwing on the run in the NFL, with defenses in the league being so fast compared to the collegiant ranks. With Pryor being drafted in the NFL supplemental draft, he's being suspended for five games in the NFL. Pryor is still paying the price for the scandal at Ohio State, which he would have sit five games at Ohio State if he decided to stay.

Nashville, TN- Titans signed WR Kevin Curtis an eight year veteran who played last year with Miami. Curtis has 253 receptions and 3,297 yards and 20 touchdowns in 81 career games.

Williams will be one NFL's top-paid defensive lineman, He'll average between $7.5 million and $8.2 million a year depending on if he meets all the contract incentives.
