Can Romo and Cowboys Bounce Back Against San Francisco?

Dallas looked really good for three and a half quarters last week against the New York Jets. Until things went arry with key turnovers in the fourth quarter. Dallas entered the fourth quarter with a 14 point lead and had a chance to put the game away. Romo tried to scramble into the end zone when he fumbled the ball away. Later on in the fourth quarter the Jets tied the game on a blocked punt, then ran it in for a touchdown.

Even though, Romo fumbled the ball away and the Jets blocked punt scored for a game tieing touchdown, the Cowboys still had a chance to win the game. Dallas had excellent field position, after the Jets punt to them. With about 1:19 left in the game all the Cowboys needed to do was to get in field goal range. However, the first play of the drive Romo threw a pass intended for Dez Bryant, that was picked off by Darnelle Revis. Romo's ill-advised pass that was intended for Bryant, was thrown in double coverage. Bryant was not moving well physically after an eary punt return, injuring his groin.

The Dallas fans were questioning Romo's inability to play the quarterback position, in the crucial part of the football game. He's been Dallas' quarterback for six years, and the fans are tired of seeing Romo's bone headed plays in key parts of a football game.

During the week Romo said, "he realizes he cost him and his teammates the game against the Jets." That's great that he realizes his mistakes cost the Cowboys the game. The question will he learn from his mistakes in the past. The Cowboys are only 1-6 in the last seven games, when Romo has been the quarterback.

"When i watched the game last Sunday night, i thought to myself maybe Tony Romo is going to be the quarterback we've seen earlier in his career." Then all of a sudden the Tony Romo i saw the last season and six games, he returned to the "horrible" quarterback i've been used to seeing. It's like he completely forgot what he was doing in the first three quarters of the game.

I learned this week that Romo's pass rating in the fourth quarter, is very high. Everybody seems to lable his stats to make him a "franchise" quarterback. A franchise quarterback is to have players around him, that can make him a "great" quarterback. What does Romo need, the young offensive line played well against a veteran Jets defensive line, running backs played well, have the best tide end in the league, and the Cowboys wide receivers are about as talented as any team would want in the NFL.

The Big Question:

Can Romo and the Cowboys bounce back from the disappointing loss to the Jets last Sunday night?

Questions:

Will Romo respond and make smarter plays in crucial times of the football game?
Will Romo forget last week and play to his expectations?
How will the Cowboy players respond to Romo's leadership?
How good is this Dallas team with Romo in control of the offense?
Can this team close out a game with a big lead?
Will they throw the game away with bone head plays or mistakes?

How good are these young 49ers:

San Francisco was in a tight game with Seattle, until Ted Ginn ran back a kickoff return, then blew the game open after returning a punt to beat Seattle 33-17. Jim Harbaugh is a very good young coach that turned San Diego St football program around, then headed to Stanford. Jim Harbaugh turned the Stanford Cardinal football program around in four years. While being at Stanford, he turned them into a football power. However, coaching in the NFL is different than coaching in the collegiant ranks. With Harbaughs hands on style of coaching, that could turn the niners organization around.

San Francisco is virtually a young team with good athletes on offense with Ted Ginn and Vernon Davis, who are key players of the niners offense. The question will the niners attack the Cowboys defense with their Pro Bowl running back Frank Gore, then attack the ailing Cowboys secondary.

"Even though Jim Harbaugh is a rookie NFL coach, he's a very crafty coach by matching up his players against the opponents defense." He was asked this week, how did he turn the Stanford Cardinals football program around. Harbaugh said, nothing. He did not tackle the other teams players, the players changed the program. Don't let that statement fool you at all. The players at Stanford bought into Harbaugh system and succeeded. Harbaugh knows how to prepare his players for game-time situations.

"If the San Francisco 49ers buy into Jim Harbaugh's system, the NFL better keep their eyes on the San Francisco 49ers."

The Cowboys better not fall asleep during Sundays game, if they do they will start off the season 0-2. Will that sound familiar, the Cowboys will again be the talk of the town. The same as this last week, nothing good.

"Dallas do all of your fans a favor, don't come home from San Francisco with a loss. Personally i'm tired of watching probably the most talented team, who has the potential to be Super Bowl contenders." Use your talent and play Cowboys football.
