Cowboys' Have Been "Gracious" Host In New Home!

Over the years the Dallas Cowboys have been known to be a very stengie host. We can look back in the history of the Cowboys and see dominant records at home. The Cowboys first home was the Cotton Bowl at the State Fair of Texas. Dallas' combined record at the Cotton Bowl is 45-33-4 with a winning percentage of .573. Dallas was 2-2 in the playoffs at the Cotton Bowl.

The Dallas Cowboys then moved to Irving, TX and played at the World "Famous" stadium with the "whole" in the roof. Tom Landry the legendary coach, who was committed to being the Cowboys coach, also lived a tremendous life of faith and trusted in his Lord and Savior "Jesus Christ." People all over the United States, thought of "Texas Stadium" as the stadium that "God" looked down on.a his team. Tom Landry was also known for the "hat" he wore on the sidelines of every football game.

Dallas' NFC Championship games, road to the Super Bowl were all played at Texas Stadium. Dallas' combined record at Texas Stadium was a remarkable 213-100, with a 16-6 playoff record, with a winning percentage of .681. The Cowboys were known for playing well in front of their home fans, who would always expect to see their Cowboys perform well and win games.

What has happened since all those winning seasons? Cowboy fans would always expect to be a contender for the "Super Bowl," now they are struggling to make the playoffs. The Cowboys have not been to the Super Bowl since 1994, when they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Since the Cowboys have moved to Arlington, TX in the largest stadium in the world. The Cowboys have an 8-8 regular season record, 1-0 in the playoffs. In the "luxurious" home of the Cowboys, they only have a sub par .529 winning percentage. With a combined record of 9-8 at Cowboys stadium. When you look at the record the Cowboys' have posted since playing at Cowboys stadium. It appears the Cowboys opponents enjoy playing at Cowboy stadium more than they do.

The mighty Cowboys, who moved from Irving, TX to Arlington, TX has even been over looked by the Texas Rangers. The Rangers, who have struggled to make the playoffs, let alone play October baseball. Well the Rangers went to their first "World Series" in franchise history last year, and are going to postseason again this year. The Rangers are trying to defend their coveted American League Championship, while the other team in Arlington is trying to make the playoffs.

All these years in the DFW area the Cowboys were the talk of the town, while struggling to win in baseball and basketball. The Rangers went to the "World Series" last year and the Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Title. Where the talk of the town has always been the Dallas Cowboys, now they are disappearing quickly. Yes there will always be die hard Cowboy fans, but they are not as respondent to them as they once were. I remember the days when fans could not wait for baseball season to be over with. Now we have Nolan Ryan as the Texas Rangers owner, the Rangers will be contending to  play October baseball for a long time.

When will the Cowboys get back on that winning level we are used to seeing? Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson had a high winning percentage. When Tom and Jimmy were Cowboys head coache, we could always expect to be "Super Bowl" contenders. Now we don't know from year to year if we will even make the playoffs.

The "Greatest" home of the Dallas Cowboys, where NFC Championship games were being played and Super Bowls won, was at "Texas" stadium. People may forget where it was, because they tore it down. Cowboys stadium is nothing but a money "hole" for Jerry Jones. It has done nothing for the Dallas Cowboy fans to be NFC and Super Bowl contenders. All the Cowboys can say they have is the largest stadium in the "World." We can hold the Super Bowl, Cotton Bowl, College football games, High School football games, and other events.

"TEXAS STADIUM WAS A HOME FOR CHAMPIONS!!!!!"

While Cowboy fans can only have memories for all the "GREAT" Dallas Cowboy teams, who played for NFC Championships and Super Bowls. We can only ask ourselves will that be the last time for NFC Championships and Super Bowls for our beloved Cowboys.

While playing at the "Shining and Luxurious" Cowboy Stadium we can only hope to make the playoffs again. Once we make the playoffs. How far can we go into the playoffs? Since 1994 when we won our last Super Bowl, we have not even come close. Are the Cowboys going to be a better home team at Cowboys stadium?

We have a coach in Jason Garrett, who has pride in the famous "STAR." Is Jason Garrett the answer to make us contenders for the Super Bowl again? Are we a long way away from being a contender for a Super Bowl again? One thing is for sure is the Cowboys have to have a higher winning percentage at home to be a contender for the playoffs, much less the Super Bowl.
