NFL Season Begins Tonight With New Orleans vs Green Bay!

Tonights game between the New Orlean Saints and Green Bay Packers, will have a playoff atmosphere. Both teams won the Super Bowl in the last two years. What a classic match-up to start the NFL season in 2011.

Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers won the MVP of the last two Super Bowls. They both carried their respective teams to the Super Bowl with their outstanding play. Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers like to take on challenges and are both highly competitive. If you look at the last two Super Bowls neither quarterback was expected to be in the Super Bowl, much less win it.

New Orleans comes in tonights game with a different look from the last two years. The Saints want to recommit to the running game. Reggie Bush is playing elsewhere, Pierre Thomas is back, who was slowed down by an ankle injury last year. Free agent Darren Sproles and rookie Mark Ingram will help  the Saints reestablish the running game. All three players will be an intrical part of the Saints running attack. New Orleans will be without wide receiver Lance Moore, who is dealing with a nagging groin injury.

Green Bay is getting back three likely starters, who were out due to season ending injuries. The players who are coming back are tight end Jermichael Finley, safety Morgan Burnett, and running back Ryan Grant; Grant will be splitting carries with James Starks. After spending time on the sidelines during the Packers Super Bowl run Finley is not shy about his goals.

"Win the championship man," Finley said. "If the chemistry gets back to where it was last year, it's going to be all good from there."

The players on both teams know that it will be a playoff atmosphere, players says it's only one game. This one game happens to be the first game of the season. Greg Jennings said, it's almost like a mini Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers would not go that far. Rodgers said, the activities are exciting in Green Bay with a concert stage on the field, schools letting out early etc., but none of these activities can match the Super Bowl atmosphere.

Without a question this is an intriguing match-up to start the NFL season, but it's only one game and it's the first game of the season. Both teams want to prove to everyone watching tonights game, that they will be contenders in 2011.

My Prediction:

Green Bay 24 New Orleans 20
